Not exactly great pictures, but that motor mount looks awfully flimsy to me???

Wow, I don't think that'd last a race. A few landings, and miss a triple short and you're bent.

Interesting route Hobao took on converting the Hyper 9. Can't say I've seen it done that way before. I feel for the center-front driveshaft though...

That could actually be the best layout Ive seen for an electric 1/8 with 3 diffs. i was just telling someone else that this layout would be the ideal setup IMO a couple weeks ago and we were talking about prototypeing a setup like that. Here HoaBoa has already done it.

Mark my words... this will be come the standard layout for these electric 1/8 buggies. In a couple years they are all going to be layed out similar to this.

Look how compact it all is and tight to the center line. it looks like it will have awesome balance.

I want one of these.

I'm betting they used a really small spur gear on the center diff to allow the center dif to drop down low enough to line up with the rear diff pinion.

The more I look at this layout the more I like it.

The length of the center shaft doesnt bother me at all. Have you seem how long the rear shaft on the FLM tranny forward Savage is. it holds up just fine.

I cant believe I am going to have to buy an Ofna this year. I would have never guessed it. But I am so all about this layout. The more I look at it the more I love it. Its as close to ideal as it can be and still keep the basic 3 diff setup. Toss Mike's slipper diff in and its done!!!

Mike had one like this on an early RC8T design but couldn't get the alignment right at the rear...

I think it looks really neat - top marks for trying something different.

Is it me or does it look like a stamped chassis and not have the Pro pieces...

Wonder how strong the back end will be withought the full brace...

Yea. it looks like a stamped chassis, but who nows where in the prototype stage this is. It could be a one off concept model at this point.

Hopefully if they do release it it will come with the pro parts. Looks like stamped shock towers in the pictures too.

The "9" looks great. The motor mount on the 8.5 looks like the first one I mad from scratch. It snapped the first time I pulled the trigger.
