Balancing 2 batteries question - 02.21.2009, 06:31 PM

I have a quick question...

I just got a couple 2s flightpower batteries. I got a blance adapter made up and the two packs induvidually balanced. One pack is at about 8.25v and one is at 7.77v.

I want to balance these as a 4s pack with my blinky. Should dick with my charger long enough to figure out how to discharge the higher voltage pack or should I just hook them up to my blinky like they are? I'm not sure if I'll do any damage to the blinky or the packs by balancing them at such different voltages...

Let me know what you think

If you have a balance adapter figured out that can balance the packs as a 4s, then charge the both fully seperately, then balance the after the charge. That way all 4 cells are closest to 4.2v and will take much lest time to balance. I would also suggest balancing the cells during the charge, even though theblinky is not the best balancer. A charge thru balancer like the fp vbalance or hyperion lba10 would be a better bet for a balancer that will protect the cells from overvoltage.

I shall balance the packs then. Thanks.

BTW I figured out the fourth wire on the TP plug is just a blank pretty much. I don't know where it goes but I can't get it to show voltage.
