Hobbycity now has carbon fiber sheets! - 02.24.2009, 11:38 PM

I found this in the new items part of hobbycity. They have carbon fiber in 200 and 100mm sheets. It comes in 1mm, 1.5mm, 2mm, and 2.5mm thicknessess. Prices are $20 for the thickest and under $10 for the thinnest. It's not big enough for a whole chassis, but it would be great for making custom carbon fiber parts.

2.5mm - http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=8709
2.0mm - http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=8708
1.5mm - http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=8707
1.0mm - http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=8706

Sweet. If they sell well enough I'm sure HC will get larger sheets in stock.

Its about 8" long and 4" wide, could be used for smaller 1/10 and smaller chassis's

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

it could also work well for the center diff braces, and making custom servo trays. maybe even some shock towers if you double them up.

I like the fact that they sell 2.5 mm. I bought a lot of CF from Full Force RC and I love their stuff but they have 1.5 mm, 2 mm and then jump to 3 mm. I bought from Penguin RC when I needed 2.5 mm.
As for their prices, Hobby City is the most expensive of the three mentioned in this post, but only by 1 or 2 pennies per square inch.
To make shock towers, Penguin RC sells 4 mm thick CF.

No brain, no headaches.
