Smile What motor to run - 03.06.2009, 06:35 AM

Hi all in RC Monster forums Can you please help me with a decision as to which motor to run. I have a G3R that i wanted to run a Schulze and Bigmaxximum but with the exchange rate at the moment it works out to be very expensive (Just over $1000) I was thinking of either the 1527 1D or the 1521 1.5D. The question is what ESC. I don't want to run a schulze because of the price, and i have had a lot of bad luck with MGM Or should i just use a 1515 1Y MMM combo
So my only real options are the MMM or the new Tekin RX8 wick according to them is rated for 200A. Has anyone had anything to do with these controllers. What do you guys recommend.

Supermaxx with Mach .26

you wont need more than a 1515 size motor and the motor wind will depend on the voltage you will be running, I agree with the MMM combo

MMM combo with the 2200 motor. Get a pair of mike's 2500 5s lipos and run them in parallel for 5000 5s. Gear according to taste...

Thanks a lot guys i have a 1515 1Y at home i will put it in and see how i like it. If i am left feeling like there is something lacking i might go with a Big motor.
In any case will 2 flighpower EVO 25 3s 4900 batteries in series be enough to power the 1515 or the 1521/ 1527, or will i have to go to a 6s parralele setup

the end result will be the same 6s 5000 mah, remember the 1521 and 1527 motors have more torque and they will break drivetrain parts if you are not careful

I agree with the MMM combo. On 4s it is controllable, 5s is pretty fast and 6s is stupid IMO.
