Shims in Tekno Neu motor. -

Hey does anyone know why these shims are required?
I pulled apart my motor & found one (front) broken. Also with dirt in it. See pic.

they space the rotor shaft so that the rotor is in the right place in loction with the windings

So, I need to replace it then.
