blew apart my brandy new 3.3 tranny today. doing a speed run it shifted to second fine was gaining speed then baazinnggg and she slowed down.

how do you keep you revo trannys from stripping gears? as im lost.

by the way this is with a mmm on 4s with a fegiao 8xl. not a very high powered setup.

ditch the trans an mod a 8th scale center diff to fit.

Lock it in 2nd, that will keep the tranny together when it does not shift...

actually tell you the truth i just took a closer look at it, i was pretty pissed when i tore it apart. its the 1st speed that blew. everything else is fine. just the 1st speed part of the input gear. didnt strip the big 1st speed gear tho.

Could be heat related causing the plastic to become weak. Try a little grease in it.

I have RRP gears and have locked the tranny on my revo conversion. No problems with the Neu on 5S.

I had the same　problem with my revo and purchased the $100+ Robinson Racing gears, but in hindsight it wasn`t completely necessary. I think you can remve the first gear altogether and lock the shifting mechanism so that it always stays in second gear. I beleive Brian G posted a thread about it soemwhere.

Hey Lito, I`ve been here in Tokyo since the 1st and found tons of RC stuff everywhere, including the Futaba factory in Chiba. Ever make it up this way much?

Yeah, there's a sticky in the Revo subforum. Also talks about modding the pins too. Once I made the mods, the tranny never had another problem.

You need to come down here in Yokosuka. I can give you a tour of the base the the ship(an aircraft carrier so it's huge). I can only do it on the weekends though.

Most of the action is in Chiba which is about 3 hours north of Yokosuka. I had been to the Futaba factory once since driving is a chore. Lots of traffic and toll fees

. They also have there own tracks which is nice, by the way. Most Japanese offroad tracks are designed for the buggies such as the Mugen MBX6, Kyosho MP9, HPI, Hot bodies. You can also go to Akihabara(electronics town). There are 4 huge stores down there. One of them is 8 stories high and merchandise ranges from plastic models to hobby grade stuff(water, air, and land).
