Motor Help - 04.27.2009, 04:35 PM

Not RC related but I think this is the best place to ask. I have a mixer at work the runs of 110v and has three speeds. The other day I was using it and it started to pour smoke out the rear. I was hoping someone here can help me find a replacement motor for it. It has a brushed motor but if somehow I can get a BL motor in there Here are the pictures with specs:

Do you know what smoked? The motor looks either dirty/dusty or somewhat burnt, but it could be the speed control that burnt too...

I don't. I stopped it as soon as it started then took off the covers. I can remove more of the covers tomorrow and get a better picture of the whole setup. It had that death smell to it.

It looks like it is built similar to a Dremel tool, which uses a tiny "controller" to rectivy the 120vAC into pulsed DC, then regulates the votlage to a DC motor to get the adjustable speed. Butt that thing looks old enough that SCR/Triacs weren't common yet, so it might just have a variac to control the speed. Yeah, more pics might help.

Or, try contacting the manufacturer for a replacement. Installing a different motor looks like is gonna require some serious modifications...
