How does the MMM + slipperential setup compare to a non slipperential equipped Rx8? Since one of the big things was the smooth bottom end of the RX8, does the slipperential do a good job compensating.
Get the Rx8 and the slipperential. :) I have driven the MMM with and without the slipperential, but havent driven the RX8 without the slipperential yet. IMO if you race get the slipperential. I used it on Sunday and had some really great sucess with it. As the day went on, traction went down and I just kept backing off the slipper a little at a time and iwas able to keep that nice controlled feeling all day. This was the first outdoor race of the year for me so it was really the first time I used it to adjust for changing track conditions. Until now i just dialed it in for the high traction indoor track that remains pretty consistent all day. It worked like a charm.
I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...
Yea, it wont fit the small size diffs in the hyper9. I dont thhink he is planning a small size version ot it, but I guess its possible. He will have to answer that for sure. The MP9 also has smaller thn normal diff sizes and wont fit it either.
I was liking that Hyper 9 alot also and really toying with getting one for a while. I actually placed one on backorder at nitrohouse, but called a couple days later to cancel it. I am way to invested in my xray at the moment to start looking at another ride right now. I'mm gonna drive it for the next year at least before I think about getting something new. Hopefully by then there will be a whole slew of cool e-options out there.
if I was gonna get something new it would be the hyper9 though.

shot mike a pm over about it as well as the center oneway setup similar to the XX4 to simulate braking bias. Not sure if he has gotten my emails as I haven't gotten any responses on those.
I hope its something that he may have on his plate to look into for both the smaller diffs and the clicker oneway setup. I do know that glassdoctor is giving it a look too.
Right now though, I'll probably stick with the MMM till the prices come down on the RX8. $100+ to change per system is just a bit much right now.
