I am sure someone has done this and I can't find it on here.. but has anyone ever converted a truggy to direct drive? Take the center diff out.. would this give better power distribution? help with the front unloading?
It will effectively lock the front and rear diffs together, so power split will be equal. Steering will suffer (thats why we have center diffs, to allow the front and rear diffs to rate at different speeds as the 4 wheels go thru their various arcs in a corner).
I think people have done truggies, no different to a buggy, as far as layout goes. I would like to see some sort of slipper clutch on the shafts that connect the the outrunner to the diffs.
Both my truggies have solid center diffs (Which acts like a direct drive, motor in the center going straight to the F/R diffs) and they act just like a 10th scale 4WD vehicle. My MBX5T turns on a dime and the tank BPP does turn on a dime when traction is available .

You have to many posts to go back and find pictures..
Could you post or send me pics of trucks with direct drives?

For some reason I can't find that picture that shows the BPP set up. In the following you'll see the MBX5T, Ofna (Old pic and that solid diff is in the BPP Truggy) and my XTM buggy.
I c it's nice to invent ur own stuffs, I hv mike's slip diff n conversion I m happy but yet to race. I m sure it will b great but it's a eye opener to c a direct drive with slip. Do u sell those too?

The diff is necessary to allow brake bias, but the handling advantages of a diff go far beyond the brake bias(I don't use mechanical brakes/bias, but wouldn't racing without a diff).
