8ight-t 1.0 Race Roller Conversion Help - 06.12.2009, 07:58 PM

i purchased the electric conversion and the CC Mamba Monster 2200kv combo, what would be a good size battery to give .21 - .28 nitros a run for their money? I have the 8ight-t 1.0 race roller

3s 4s 5s 6s? and what mAh will give me good run times? Can i double up on lower mAh packs? example like 2 3000mAh packs or 2 2350mAh etc... will 3000 work ok? or do i need 3000+ its a small technical track with lots of jumps. just trying to save some money. I do not know much about the math behind the cell count/mAh/kv/15c/20c/25c/30c.... can someone give me a quick run down on what to look for if i want to club race? looking for best bang for the buck thanks. please answer what you brushless masters can for me!

I'd go 5s 4500-6000mah

Yep, you could run a 5s 5000, but gear down low for 38mph and you should last long enough.

I'd personally run 4s on a 2200KV motor. 5s on it will be very fast, unless you gear really low. Assuming you can't change the motor to a lower KV version, 5s will probably be best for a compromise of racing and bashing. If you're strictly racing though and are only on that track, I'd go with the Zippy 4s 25C 5000mah pack. 5s will be way too powerful in my opinion.

Edit: Yes, you can double up on packs. Just make sure you use the right connector (series or parallel). To choose your gearing, use this calculator:
http://www.scriptasylum.com/rc_speed/_top_speed.html
And gears are sold in the RC-Monster store. You should probably be able to get about 15 or 20 minutes out of the pack you mentioned. But it really all depends on how you drive.

He runs the 2650kv buggy as opposed to the 2200kv truggy version.

You might get 7-10 minutes depending on your driving style.

5000 would be your best bet. Probably 18-20min runtimes, since you're on a tight track, gear for low-mid 30s and you'll see 20-22min runtimes with the 5000mah.

I have 4 of those Rhino 20c 5s 4900mah packs in the list above for $69. There are great! They push my truggy and Revo and never complain! I'd pick up some of those and run lower gearing for 40mph or slower.

On 5s, you would need to run 12/48 gearing.
On 4s, you would need to run 15/48 gearing.

Either one. Rhino's seem underrated, which is good. Turnigy's just came out but I'm sure their quality is well above par.
