I would like to know if any one has any experience with the losi smart diff, and how durable it really is, mainly the springs, ect. I have heard that they tend to be a weak point, but this is according to the nitro's, that I have been talking to, however, does has anyone used on with a Bl system.
Thanks
Just a generalized observance, if something will not stand up to nitro, it will most likely fail faster with brushless due to the addl torque and the fact that torque is available at much lower rpms.
I am wondering how well it will work as a center diff in the muggy, large tires and a 1521 can put some stress on stuff...
the reason I'm asking, is I'm thinking of adapting my modded ring gear & shafts and drop them inside it, and place it in my erevo....this is why I'm asking
I plan to test it in my mugen beginning of July so i will let you know. i wanted to test it this weekend but I am still waiting for diff spacers as 48t spur does stick out of the chassis.

i've been using it in my nitro and bl cars without a single issue... open it up when you get it and make sure everything is where its supposed to be and there is plenty of grease and you're good to go
I've been running Smartdiffs center and front in my heavy and very fast Muggy for months now, still working well
So how well does the cd work? Does it limit/stop the front tire ballooning? I run 50k fluid and wonder if the smart diff will "diff out" less than that?
The ballooning is much more controllable. It still does spin up but there's a lot more power going to the back wheels than with 50k. I can hold a wheelie for a long stretch now.

Good to know, now which center diff should I get? I am guessing the spurs that come with the smart diffs are not interchangeable with the std losi spurs? I have looked on a few sites but none list the number of teeth...
I'm going to get a weight when I get home but roughly 12lb. As far as handling goes, I've tried hard to give it the same "feel" as my B44 buggy. It will rotate under power and it drifts like a champ. I was out at my buddy's farm on the weekend and I blasted out onto a just-planted corn field. I was expecting more drama but it really stayed smooth and stable at warp speed over the rough stuff. Highly recommended - the Muggy and the Smartdiff. I'll post pics of my current setup if you want.
