I am pretty new at this RC business (E-Maxx - soon to be brushless). Would you all mind expalining what IP, GP, Matched and Zapped means when it comes to batteries? What's the advantage?

IB is "Intellect" a company and so is GP. They produce cells.

Zapped is a process that means the internal resistance in the cell is lower and increases voltages and efficency.

Matched is a process that means all the cells are of equal or very similar voltage so the discharge rate is equal and they offer more volts (power).

So basically if it is a battery that says GP3700, no matter what company name is on it (ie integy, trinity, orion), they are the same battery?

Which ones should I buy?

ib 4200s are the best there is. and yes, no matter if it says integy, trinity, or poopoo, if it says gp 3700 it is made my gp and rebadged by them.....

Yep, read topic in General Discussion area. The 4200s are a faulty batch. Your much better getting some IB3800s.

I'm guessing thats why GP are holding their 4300s back?

It's the same old story over and over Nick. every time with higher capacity cells, this problem occurs.

i read it, and bought mine anyway since the guy said that if one fails he will replace it for free and since only a small portion of them are bad.

which does not necessarily place them above the 3800's.

It is the same old story over and over, new cells can't deliver the same peak of energy the 'elder' types from the same serie can. This takes a few months, before they got the mixture properly balanced or something like that..

So the ib 3800 hold there voltage better than the 4200. I missed the story Alex posted. I got the 3800 and are happy.
