Lipo brand questions

I've been shopping around for lipo's and the TP's seem to have the better ratings, especially for current. I like MaxAmps options to build the pack but their 4000mAh says 12C/16C and I'm concerned this isn't enough so I would have to move up to their 8000mAh which is twice the price. Or the TP's seem to be consistently high enough.

This will be used on an e-revo using a 10xl at 18.5v. I am considering anything from 4000mAh to 8000mAh.

When you discharge it too fast it overheats right? If so, does that mean the higher the packs capability(amps), the lower the temp will be at a given draw?

Anyone have experience with maxamps lipos?

48amps constant should be enough.

When too many amps are pulled from a Lipo, then its voltage will drop below 3volts/cell. This is where a LVC would be used, to stop the cells from dropping below 3volts. For some Lipos, at their maximum continuous amp draw, they will overheat when discharged continuously at that rate (like TP Lipos).

Maxamps isn't a bad company, and they have some of the best customer service. Those particular 4000mah cells perform rather well, too.

They are different cells. One cell is a 2100mah 15C (2 of these in parallel is 4200mah), and a 4000mah 12C (single cell). The 4200mah is capable of 63amps cont., while the 4000mah can handle 48amps continuous. The 4200mah pack will be heavier, since it has a higher discharge rate, but it also has slightly more capacity. Also not the size difference; the 2100mah cells are skinny, and the 4000mah cells are about the width of a sub-c cell. My own personal decision would be to choose whatever is cheapest, since I can make a custom chassis based on certain battery sizes/shapes.
