Managed to get a few minutes of running in today before the rain started. The engine was having problems holding a tune, i found out after that the carb was loose. I didnt have a camera person either. :frown:

Very cool!
I like that it sounds more like a chainsaw than a nitro R/C :003:

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna
People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

Dude, that thing is sweet! It looks pretty torquey. How fast does it go? What's up with the smoking drum in the background?

I got a GPS speed of 35mph out on the road. The drum is the the neighbors contribution to global warming.

It can outrun a hyper 8 port and a stock s-25 so I would call it a success. Most nitro Savages dont come anywhere near 40mph like everyone thinks.
*edit* RcDriver May 2005 Savage SS 4.6 speed as tested 35.5mph. Cant be to bad if I can go as fast a 4.6 Savage.

'zactly, most nitro mts are lucky to see 35mph in reallity. Also if you get power hungry you could always add a little forced induction.something you can't do with a 2 stroke.

NBCAZN. the 4 stroke is like putting a 8XL in a savage, its not about the overall power(which is great) its about the torque you can(and sometimes can't)use to power out of turns.
Pocono. Yes thats him. I watched a vid where he was running against a field of truggies and while he didn't win, he didn't give anything up against them.

Just based on experience.i only managed to get 40mph out of my LST with my 11 port sirio .27 which is a peachy motor. Is it a big block in your revo?if so i can see how you get 50mph but if it's a small block then that's impressive.i can't be bothered with nitro at the moment, you can't use a starter box with the LST and pull starts do my nut.

Gustav and Boss. the reason the revo can be capable of close to 50 is because of different climates, different tuning (maybe), and the fact that the 2.5 is capable of near 50,000 RPM redline. Plus the revo itself is very light compared to other trucks, which means the power to weight ratio is higher than other trucks.

I never disputed the fact that the modded revo could hit 50.in fact i'm not at all sceptical of this.but in my origional post, when i say monster truck i'm thinking 1/8 scale 5+kg,and i still maintain that most MTs never see the exciting side of 35mph.i said that's impressive for a small block which it is.
i do remain a little sceptical that a t-maxx can outdrag a 660cc atv,beyond the first 20 yards or so anyway:010: :027: .
