Wow impressed w/ the MMM combo in my 8t on 5s no less! - RC-Monster Forums

Well the other night I dropped my truck on the track and started my first qualifier and a couple minutes in she just dies (I was in first). I pulled it off she was stuttering like it does when one ESC wire is loose so I checked the connections and even swapped out the wires and nothing.. at this point I assume my Neu 1515 2.5d crapped the bed. I drive over an hour to race so I wasn't giving up! I keep a spare MMM combo in my tool box for just such occasions! Well I dropped it in quick w/ a 12t long shank pinion and was ready for qualifier #2 (~42mph), I took 1st by a mile and even did 10 laps in the 5minutes which was best of any truggy racer all day to my knowledge! (few buggy pro's did it) Well with that time I also got tq and started the main in 1st.. I pulled out ok got into a mess.. anyway I was battling to get back into first place and almost had him till my 5k 5s battery pack hit LVC! Mind you this is only a 12minute amain so I was very surprised, when it happened but I never adjusted for the added pull of the 1y vs the 2.5d :( I'll be limited my throttle to 90% next time or running my 5s 6k pack. Anyway the funny thing is even though I was at a dead stop for the last full minute of the race I still took 3rd place! I just sat right before the line.. and finished up. Fun night anyway this truck is super responsive and tuned nice for me now... wish I could get my buggy in line! I looked like a rookie driving that one during one of the heats.. but took 4th in the amain behind our local pro's which i'm a ways away from beating still. I will add though the pinion is pretty beat due to the mesh not being quite tight enough so I ordered up the 50t lightened spur and a new 12t pinion so I can get a real nice mesh until I get my 2.5d back from repair (if I don’t just sell it).

Here are a few shots.. wires all fit right nice :) Again very very happy w/ how it handled out there.. other than it being a "gas" hog! LOL

Rub it in some more Brian! You owned the track Thursday! I'm still aways back but I did finish ahead of some of the very experienced drivers that generally do well. Also eventhough it was a nitro I have to give Wall credit for buying the 8-T 2.0 RTR half an hour before qualifying and taking the win.

Thanks man she was hooking up nice for the most part, ya jacob seems to still have my number. The last coulpe weeks something always seems to happen.. maybe this next week will be the week I nab him. You beat stan and quite a few others right.. pretty good run.

I gotta say my dark colors at night are not helping me.. the truggy is blue (like yours) do you find it hard to keep track of out there for the mains? I think I may need to start wearing my glasses heh. The buggy is actually 100x worse though that purple mids well be black, I need a "night lid" w/ some glow in the dark addons :) I'm actually looking for some of that tape that glows in the dark to make a few stripes on the lids of both the buggy and truggy.

Yeah, seems like no matter how well I do during qualifying I always crash and burn in the main under the lights. Esspecially the back right hand corner I can barely see my truck, back left isn't much better, and if the two of us are near each other in those sections it just makes it that much worse! I like the idea of the tape. I have a bunch of the aluminum tape that I could stick on my truck, that might help, but I def want to get another body and paint it very brightly!
