Question chassis mounted motor mount? - 02.10.2006, 04:13 AM

Does anyone know of any chassis mounted motor mounts for the Emaxx other than the Gmaxx X brace? I saw an auction on Ebay for a Carbon chassis that had a motor mount that was just a piece of right angle aluminum bolted to the rear upper deck of the chassis, with motor mounting holes cut in the upright part of it. The auction is gone now, but I now have a similar chassis, and that motor mount would allow me to lower the motor about an inch, and move a lot of weight rear ward.
Heres the chassis I bought. Its a used Xtreme Racing fiberglass chassis. Chassis Auction. Theres a nice big area on the rear upper deck where I could squeeze in an 8L.:027: :D

Im thinking that if theres no easy way to find this I can just make my own. But Id rather not have to.

Thanks for any help.

I've got a similar chassis to that. I've got the xtremerc carbon fibre brushless chassis (extended about 1"). The motor mount does look very good and lowers the CoG, but it's not the strongest thing in the world. It might be OK with an 8L, but I wouldn't reccomend an XL (I run a BASIC XL - very light)

PS. Can post pics if you want - or look at my avatar.....

Thats the motor mount I saw on ebay. Do you have any idea where I could buy one of those, without the chassis? And about the strength, I was probably going to make some bracing between the new motor plate and where the stock one was, just because a little bit of chassis flex could cause a stripped spur gear otherwise.
