Tekin RX8 with T8 buggy motor problem - 09.09.2009, 10:40 AM

This is a clean copy from my email which I sent to support.

"Got my RX8 combo on my car today and drove it for a 10minutes. Then I opened up the taps a bit and the result was that no chime could be heard from the motor again.
Esc seems to be fine since Hotwire works like it did before, it even responses to the trigger when its on. Just no response from the motor.

Everything else seems to be ok but the motor looks like it died for some unknown reason. When I power up the system, no chime could be heard and the motor doesnt turn not one bit.
If I spin the axle on the motor, I can feel the magnets so that the axle doesnt spin wild.

I don't know what has happened, any same kind of errors you know? I try to resolder the connections but don't know if its any luck. Will let you know then."

Anyone know what could be wrong?

Okay, looks like its the Esc that died. It seems that it doesn't send any commands to the motor, everything works fine when looking at it but no luck with the motor rolling. Hotwire works like a charm, so does the leds. Leds wont give any errors either. Its just quiet.

Opened the motor and everything was like it is supposed to be. No magnets loose and nothing shorted (as figured).

I wonder when the Tekin Support is kind enough to answer my emails. It already takes way too long to ship the item back to the factory alone for replacement, so this waiting time is kind of frustrating.

Not trying to be an ass, but I'm just eager to get my truck going again. This time for real.
