Hobbywing BEC - 09.14.2009, 09:16 AM

How is the Hobbywing BEC. I got a 150Amp version and was wondering if the BEC can handle more than 12 cells.

I know with my Mamba MAx if I go over 12 cells it is suggested to run an external BEC should I do the same for the Hobbywing or can it handle the extra juice?

Thanks

The HW 80A and 150A use a switching BEC, the MM uses a linear BEC, so you're fine.

i think you might be surprised how cheap you can get lipos for nowadays. the turnigy series batteries from hobbycity.com are actually cheaper than even mid-grade ni-mhs.

you can get a 5000mah 20c 2s pack for $20! the 3s version of that pack is only $30.

They say a good mechanic only needs 2 tools - WD40 & Duct tape. If it moves, and its not supposed to, duct tape. If it doesn't move, and its supposed to, WD40.
