Cheap brusless system from E-maxx - 02.25.2006, 12:43 PM

What is a good, cheap brusless system for an E-maxx? I don't want anything crazy fast, around the speed of an hv-maxx.

i think the 9920 and a feigao 9xl will be right up your ally. you can also increase cell count up to 20+ cells if you want more speed. i would exstimate about 35ish mph and great runtimes although it will cost more like 290 and i would also recommend the rcm heatsink/clamp. the clamp will keep the end of the can from popping and ruining your motor. its well worth it.

12s wanderer + 7020 BK Warrior e.s.c= moderate, satisfying speed with enough torque and a very reasonable price. A 10 or 11 turn s version would give you cool speeds, but gearing and amp drawing might need some revising.

Those cheap 70 dollar controllers of ebay are no good, they are likely to burn..

if you've got 250 dollars to spent, i would take a 7020 and a 12L. Nice and smooth, and it will have got a tad more power than the HVmaxx Or just get a HVmaxx, perhaps ncabz is willing to sell his.

There is no such thing. As soon as you upgade to brushless, you will need to upgrade many more parts.

Have you tried the Titans w/ good 7 cell packs? If no, try that first. If it is too slow, start saving your money and keep reading these forums!

A 7020 and a 14L works great together. You will need cvds and steel idler gears. I have ran the 14l and 7020 combo. I had 14cells on it though. It had more umph than the hvmaxx. I would consider the step up serum said. a 12 L or 13L. The 7020 would support you good to. You would still have the options of stepping up on cells to. The 14L will run on 18 no problems.

Peace!

a 10xl on 12 cells NOT is "a crazy insane BL setup". its moderately fast. 35ish mph. not going to set any blistering world records with that setup...

Still faster than an hvmaxx, you have to admit.. and it is possible to reach the 45 mph with that motor. (on 12 cells)
