This has been discussed a couple times, but a while back. It basically stops the charge at the end of the CC charging phase. You do lose a little capacity from the lack of the CV phase, but not a whole lot.

That's been pretty much the consensus; either get this unit and deal with the added complexity while losing some capacity, or just get a proper charger. It would be one thing if you had just one lipo pack and don't forsee getting more, but since lipos are more and more common, it just makes sense to get the proper equipment. I see this device as a bandaid.

If he were to lock the thread we wouldn't be able to get off topic like all RC-M threads though

How about that World Series?

I agree, just buy a proper lipo charger. If you are strapped for cash but want a good charger keep an eye out for used Hyperion chargers. I have a 5i that I bought about 3-4 years ago and it hasn't missed a beat, very good chargers.

All I ever wanted was an honest weeks pay for an honest days work.

Yeah, 30 bucks and all you can charge is a 2s lipo... I do not see in the spec what rate it can handle either. Sounds like a poorly though out idea. Just drop 30-40 bucks on one of the 50watt chargers on HC, or pop the wad on a decent charger (hyperion) that you can actually use. Either way make sure you get something with an internal balancer. You can always sell the prophet (and buy yourself a tossing from old Harold!)
