Was wondering if this motor would fit in a SC10 - 11.13.2009, 04:07 AM

So I was running a medusa 4800KV motor with a 5mm shaft in my sc10 with a 32 pitch spur, slipper eliminator, and ball diff. I was blowing tranny parts left and right with this motor. I was trying to find a replacement motor and was wondering about this one?? I know nothing of hackers but I saw the 3.17 shaft and wondering if this would fit the bill. With the 3.17mm shaft I can put the slipper back on and save the tranny on the poor sc10.

Why did you eliminate the slipper? You could have gotten a rc10GT2 32 pitch gear for the slipper you have, would've saved the tranny. As for this motor, it's lower KV so it'll be slower at the same gearing. It's about the same power, so you will want to stay with 32 pitch gearing. I highly recomend the GT2 spur if you do get that motor

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

I couldnt find much info on this when I did it and I "thought" I looked at the GT2 spur but did not see the slipper pad inset....now I feel pretty retarded. Thankyou for the info. I believe I will buy some new GT2 spurs and call it a day.

The c50 maxx is 43mm in diameter, that may cause a fit issue with the motor mount and tranny clearance.

ok thanks limp. What i did was saw originally was that the kimbrough spur was not notched for the slipper pads and figured they were all like that. I did not know the associaated would be perfect. Funny thing is I thought I had read a while back about the 32 pitch conversion for the T4 with GT2 parts a while back. Oh well I will just order some spurs today. LOL....yup wasted some there.
