what is a Ring Gear? - 11.27.2009, 09:48 AM

I've found this file and uploaded it to my webspace:
http://users.telenet.be/erikoo/Rustl...%20gearing.xls

It shows different pinion/ring gear set ups for different buggies and truggies: for the RC8t that the "diffs" are 43/10
"Ring gear" being 43 and "pinion gear" being 10

But what is this diff gear and what is the difference between this and the spur/pinion gear combination.
Are there 2 kinds of pinion gears?

+ is the "43/10 diffs" correct for the RC8t? because I couldn't find this anywhere else.
And what is the correct tire diameter for this truggy?

Thx,
Riko

The ring gear is inside the differentials both front and rear and is shaped like a ring. 43/10 is the correct ratio for the RC8T and the RC8
