Looking for a motor for my CRT .5 - 12.28.2009, 12:37 AM

Got some stuff sold, need to get some stuff bought. I need a motor for my .5 to run with a mamba max and 2.2 truck gladiators. I had a Medusa 3300 last time around, but I think this time I might go for a Neu. I am debating a 4s setup too.

Would the Neu 1509/2.5d (2700kv) or 1509/1.5y (2400kv) be good for 4s w/ the MM? Or should I just stay at 3s with a mamba max?

I'd like to find a used motor if possible. Let me know if you come across any deals or you have a motor I could use..

I run a 1509 3300k tekno Neu on 3s w/a mm and it flies, runs cool.

You could go for a 3300kv w/the MMP that way if you want to go up in cells, you would be all set. I have heard people running the 3300kv on 4s w/success

What's wrong with that Medusa? I still haven't gotten rid of my CRT .5 (still needs the front end put back together). I may be interested in buying it back....

Would there be any reason to try out one of the 14 series Neu's, or would you only want to use those if a 15 series absolutely wouldn't fit? I've been looking at those for a CRT.5, Hyper Mini ST, Ofna SC, etc. but wasn't sure if you are just sacrificing power without any advantage?

The medusa is gone.. I could go for a 14 series Neu but the best deal I found so far is a tekno Neu 1519 2400kv for $100. Brand New. If I can find a 1509 around 3300kv for about the same price I'd probably take that and run on 3s...

I have an Aveox Brushles motor that might work (36mm can dia). Aveox was the precursor to neu. Its somewhere between 1509 and 1506, kv is around 2700.. dont know the specifics off the top of my head... Pm me if your interested

I think I'll stay with a Neu; don't want to stray away from the original plan even though I'm tempted. I have another purchase that I have decided will come first... A 9c hubmotor for my bike. I finally have enough saved up. I've wanted an e-bike for some time and that hobby is slowly taking over rc although I'll keep the .5. Maybe after x-mas opening on new years (didn't open on x-mas due to 20" of snow ruining plans) I'll have enough for both..

Personally, I love the Medusa 36-50-3300 on 3s in my CRT.5. Motor stays cool, is geared for ~30, and has enough torque to flip it over at will.
