Brushless Revo 3.3 Gearing - 01.04.2010, 11:55 PM

Hey guys, decided to resurrect my BL Revo conversion (bought it back off a mate)

Am planning to run it with this motor

http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...hless_Inrunner

And a Hobbywing 80A ESC on 4S A123 while retaining the 2 speed and having mechanical brakes and Tekno Electri-Clutch

I have a 15/36 gearing on it now, but I have a clutchbell that looks to be identical to a Traxxas style around 21-22 t

Would that gearing be ok or am I better suited to the 15? Internal gears are the "normal" version as fitted to the Stock Revo 2.5.

Those motors are extremely inefficient and you don't want to push it to hard so I would stick with the 15t to start and see how temps are and then adjust it from there

RC-Monster RC8T 1515 2.5D/MMM/5s RC-M 4500mah
SC10 MMPro 13.5T 2s NeuEnery 5000mah
RC18T Mamba 25/5400kv 2s lipo + 6s NiMh

what motor mount are you useing?

i know on my tekno conversion i can't run bigger that a 16t

and everyone will tell you, that motor you are looking at buying is crap, but it would be fun to see what will last longer the KD or the easy run

Oh I am under no illusions that the motor / esc is a long lasting set up, but I got them off a mate for my Turnigy Accu 6 charger which I paid $35 for so no biggy.

It's the Tekno motor mount kit

Within the next 2-3 months it'll be nursing a Tekin combo, so the HW and KD motor are for maybe 2-3 months only.

the two speed is ganna have to go.. otherwise when it shifts into second your going to get an instant wheelie and total loss of control... ive done the exact same conversion as you.. my set up is 4s mamba monster 2200 combo with 16/38 gearing and its perfect. motors highest temps are 110 and esc 125.. tunegy batts never even get warm.
