Ep 1/8 race was banned! - 02.24.2010, 09:05 AM

I just thinking was it fair my track owner banned us for 1 month?

We have regular gp 1/8 n ep 1/8 races every month.

March we are banned becoz our ep guys are sometime late for marshaling n late to fall in for race.

Well it happens to gp guys also but at the end we were banned to please the gp guys as they are majority.

I felt we paid the same $ but raced shorter 7-10mins only for 3 finals

where as the gp run 7 min heats n 1 hr main.

At the end I felt unfair but no choice as he's the track owner n the only 1/8 track in my country.

What you guys think?

I'd say run with those guys as well. Get some extra lipo's and make pit stop's like they do for the Mains.

The track owner should realize the ep guys have a little more to do to prepare for the next race than the gp guys. They don't have to check on and/or get batts on the charger. They can just gas up and go. But at the same time, the owner is trying to please everyone and get in as many races as possible. My local indoor track didn't want to run a 4x4 sc class because they already go till 2am with the other classes they already have going. I heard they now have a class, but only due to the number of 4x4 sc trucks showing up. Banning for a month, a little harsh. A good talking to and maybe 2 weeks off if things didn't improve would've been the route I'd have taken. Now you know what you guys have to do to keep running there though.

nitro needs way more maintenance between runs. with electric u put your car on a charger and go marshalling. with nitro there are many thing you need to check - at least clutchbell bearings and clutch shoes and of course check receiver battery .

Problem is we put down the car n immediately we need to do marshaling but some guys hv to plug out the club amb. N most of us need to unplug the batt first.

Yes u are right track owner dun understand Ep. He thought We hv to on n off only.

the In between heats time is very tight. But when it's ep's race time you can see the gp marshals take so long to come over. Names have to be called so there's delay also but nothing or warning to them?

Instead it's us who got banned.

I wanted to do my own race but renting a 1/2 day track is already us$200 not adding in amb system which is another us$300.

We only have 12-15 racers, to bear the whole cost is tough, but at least no rushing & sharing the track with gp

At that price, you could probably buy a spot of land and make your own track!

Issues. - 02.24.2010, 07:31 PM

Sounds like you guys have some issues to work on. Personally I would get everyone together with the track owner and work out the issues as a team effort. Get everyone on the same page including the track owner. It sounds to me like there is allot of chaos going on that needs to be sorted out there. If that does not work for you, then do like BG stated and find an area that you can use and start up your own track as a group. It is amazing what you can accomplish when bunch of R/C guys put their heads together and come up with a plan. Good luck working out your issues.

After discussing with track owner, he allow us to race on April but no gp will marshal for us. We need to hire marshals.

So the whole Ep team will hire 4 marshals n share among the cars we race.

Let hope this works.

WTF? Electric is soo easy to marshal. Not like gp where you always have that jerk that holds WOT. And I hope you dont have to marshall the gp's in that agreement

Yes we are not marshaling for them too. I felt the track owner is sandwich between Ep n gp.

Once the Ep racers increases then I believe we can say something too.

They said we are too slow but they are the same to us also. Only the gp buggies marshals n racers has less problems.

I guess it the old school thinking. gp Buggies is king!:(
