Which buggy

Want to hear you guys opinion on a buggy choice.

I am about to build myself a 1/8 bl buggy, but have a few to choose from. Please post you experiences pros/cons about these 4:

For all of them the base will be a Tekin system running on 4s lipo, and with a 3pm 2,4 ghz. and Aka wheels/tyres.

- Associated RC 8FT with the RCM conversion.
- Losi 8ight 2.0 with the Tekno conversion
- Mugen MBX-6 Mspec with the RCM conversion
- Ofna X2 with the RCM motormount

Another option is to just get the RC8e or 8ight-E. What will I miss if I just buy one of those. Ihave the RC8Te, which works ok, but will I gain something from choosing the others.

I've got the losi 8ight-e with the RCM mount. Actually, i have 4 of them which tells you how much i like them.

I'm not a fan of the Tekno conversion because it somewhat limits your pinion choices and I didn't really care for the way the motor mounts.


i also have the RC8te.

imo, the losi 8ights i have are a bit more durable. imo,
1. the aluminum is a higher quality and thicker on the race rollers.
2. the parts are made of a better plastic. imo, the rc8 battery tray is pathetic (which is why i use a losi 8ight-e battery tray in my TE)
3. there's less plastic on the 8ights
4. they all have threaded shocks
5. the 8ights have bigger battery trays and are much stronger
6. the 8ights have a higher differential ratio
7. the 8ight radio box has easier access. (i never liked having to pull off my servo horn to access the rc8te's receiver)

the only thing i didn't like about the 8ight-e was the motor mount. i didn't like the design so i went for the RCM mount. that one is amazing.

I'd go with the mugen. Mugen's MBX6 is among the best buggies in the market. Durability, sharp turning, decent stability and it's simply amazing to look at. You'll get the M version which is built by factory hands and adjusted for racing. The 8ight is my second recommendation, but I strongly advise you to opt for the Mugen.

I own 2 Mugens and they are built like tanks and perform exceptionally well.

Honestly...unless your a "hardcore I need every adjustable feature" racer, any of those buggies will be fine...I've owned an 8ight and rc8 and both were good and durable...but of course if your still learning to jump or bash hardcore, something is gonna break...all of the FT/aluminum parts are nice and all but IMHO, I would just "replace as you break" if you get the "E" versions of the buggies...

May be better to stick with same brand as your RC8Te, common spares.

Thanks for the replies guys. Before writing the topic, I favored the MBX6, so I think I will go with that.

I'd say either the MBX6 or RC8. The MBX6 because it's so well made. The RC8 because you get common parts with your truggy.
I had a Losi and there were several things I didn't like about it that got me to sell it in a short while of ownership. It handled fine and jumped well, but I didn't like the plastics and the design of certain parts. It was converted with a Tekno kit, which I didn't have a problem with aside from what was previously mentioned about the limited pinion selection.

Thanks for the inputs guys. My love for the truggies overruled my ideas about a buggy, so I ended up buying a MBX6-t M-spec and Mikes bl conversion in stead. It will be paired with my RX8/2000 kv. system a Hitec 7955 servo and 5s lipo.
