seriously on the average i break an axle with every set of batteries i run on my E Revo. today it was 2 axles with one set of batteries, and yesterday it was one axle (actually the axle yesterday and the 2 today were on the same charge) the day before that i didnt break any but the day before that i did break one. I have seriously broken soo many that i have lost count. Its getting old. ive got the slipper so it slips, my brakes are set at 30%, punch control set at 50% and i only run 4s. I dont drive my truck very hard with fear of breaking more axles! In fact axles are the ONLY THING i have broken on this truck. I am pretty close to buying a savage flux just so i can break something besides axles all the time! lol. But seriously....are you guys breaking them all the time too? or is it just me? .

i think i have read a few different places that those are not as strong as the plastic ones.

i found them a lot tougher but didnt like them baceause when racing, if the bearing carriers came loose ever so slightly BAM! the dog bone hanf fell off and you just lost all drive (center diff).

i have been having continuing success with summit driveshafts, ive got about 6 months or more racing on them and they are only just starting to show signs of ware

and since i run a center diff, i run my slipper all but locked, no it wont slip unless you put it up against a wall on bitumen on soft race tires and ping it.

I have used them for almost a year with no serious issues. Although I did bend one when my friend drove my ERBE (BAD IDEA) and hit a soccer goal post at 3/4 throttle, along with breaking a pushrod. RPM arms didnt break tho. And other than that two of the dust boots tore.

I would strongly recommend them.

BUT, they can not be used if you are using LT rockers or your pushrods in the innermost hole.

Why is that? Im running both the LT rockers AND have my rods in the inner hole lol.

Because the design of all CVD's are unable to work with the huge amount of articulation the revo has when using LT rockers or rods in the inner hole.

It's all about how you drive. You might not be driving it hard but you might be jerking the throttle instead of smooth and finesse touch. I still have to break any driveshafts on my converted revo which I ran with either 5 or 6S. Landing on throttle also will break your shafts and even diffs which I still have to break any either.

I dont jerk the throttle around, i like to think i opperate the throttle with linear motion. I have landed on the throttle accidently a FEW times, but only to correct myself when in the air and landed before i could get my finger to the nuetral position. BTW nice 'Runner you got there!

loosen your slipper, that is what its for

i have been racing my brushless revo on 6 cell for 2 years and i have never broken an axle

i have it set so it slips, but i guess i could loosen it more.

I would try loosening the slipper first like suggested. You could get steel CVDs, but if you don't fix the true underlying problem you will just be fixing one weak point and the breakages will start happening at another point in the drivetrain. Diffs and trans gears are a much bigger PITA to replace than driveshafts.

exactly

its alot cheeper to replace the slipper pads every season, than to replace the diff or a cvd every time you take it out

I run 5s w/plastic axles and only have broken 3 in the last year ?

I drive like a madman,jump,climb all the fun stuff.

Try loosening the slipper a bit more !!!!

+1 slipper is too tight....I break axels...it's inevitable, but i havent broken an axel in months...
