RC8Te or e-Revo

I'm looking for a 1/8 sized electric RTR to goof off with in the backyard. There's the typical tall St. Augustine grass, so a truggy of sorts I think would be best.

I've come up with RC8Te or e-Revo for their rebustness and ride height mix, and really don't want to look into other options unless some other produce fits the bill better.

My needs are:
> Lipo support
> Availability for repair parts

Any opinions on which of these two I should go with?

Both will be fine for bashing, but I would choose the rc8te since truggy I prefer truggy style layouts. They are easier to wrench on and drive so much better (imo).

Check your LHS to see what parts they carry the most.

My vote is for a Losi LST converted to electric.

My vote is the truggy. I have owned both truggy and revo and by far the truggy takes the cake as far as durability, ease of maintenance and simplicity. If you are looking into a truggy, look at you LHS to see if they carry a certain brand. Although most major manufacturers parts can be had on a lot of different sites

Ditto the Truggy for reliability over the Revo.....If you want one with a little more ride height get a Muggy.
I've had all three - the Truggy will handle better than the Revo, it wont handle the rough stuff quite as well though (might do better by putting some bigger tires on it though). I just got my Muggy put together, and initially it looks like its the perfect blend.

Muggy? That's nitro, correct? I've already gone through a LSP-R 1/8 electric conversion, and it's too much maintenance. Looking for an RTR that I can easily find and repair breaks.

Muggy conversion is a real peice of cake. Mikes motor mount and a battery tray and your done. Plus the rollers are typically cheap comparatively. I think you can even get some good buys on new ones (they dont make them anymore). Only issue is the supposedly weak chassis (I haven't experienced that yet).

But, if you are looking soley at RTR, and using the ERBE price range - get a Flux. You'll have a lot more fun with it bashing than you will a Revo or the RC8T.

I have an RC8Te and LOVE it. IT takes just about anything I can throw at it. I run the Mamba 2200kv with zippy 30c 5000mah 4s with 16/50 gearing. Plenty of top end and tons of torque. Because I LOVE the RC8Te soo much I just bought a SC8e as well. Just need motor and speed control and its done. Over all the associated will cost more than the Revo to set up. But reliability isnt even a comparison. I have yet to do more than pop off a shock cap and I am just about as hard as you can be on this thing.
