Steering servo

Hi

I just installed my new Hitec 5695 steering servo, and the servo works fine.

But when I put the plastic servo saver on with the screw, it wont work properly. When it is in neutral and I turn right, it will turn the wheels to the right, but it wont go back again! I can hear the servo spinning back, but the wheels don´t follow back?

Is it my servosaver? It seems like the servo is just spinning inside the servo saver. I have never had any problems like that with the stock servo.

what servo saver are you using ? - 6.0v ? - is this on an emaxx - give us as much info as possible and if possible - some pics - well have you ripping up the ground asap.. And welcome to the site ( if i havent welcomed you already - LOL )

It is on an e-maxx and it is the standard servo saver.

I know I should get a UE but it seems expensive...

Would this one be any good?

You can go to e-bay and get a proline. They work good and you can get one cheap.

check your servo horn, the plasic will be ruined or too wide.

that would cause such a failure as you are discribing.

Or the servo saver spring got too loose. (i presume you use a servo saver with a C spring)
BTW the proline servo saver is obsolete, they are getting rare.

not really serum. why just the other day i saw them on a website for sale. he must have bought a bunch before they quite making them. there pretty cheap on ebay. a used on is about 20 a new one is about 35 and a ue is about 80 from mike. i personally think the ue is worth it as it is all aluminum, still in production, you can get parts for it (spring, ect.).

I just checked, i searched for Proline servo.. Not one? that's why i said they are rare.. Anybody has got a link? i am looking for 1 too

I just sold one on ebay the other day.
I think some of the hitecs use a different shaft where the servo saver mounts. If that is the case it won't work until you get and adapter or the right servo saver. I like the ue one and think it is great. Proline is nice but getting harder to find.

If I buy the UE servo saver, will I then need anything else?

I suppose I then use the blue metal horn, that came with the servo and the stock plastic thing between the metal horn and the servo saver, right?

I want to get as few shipments as possible, because every time I order, it costs me 20-40 dollars for shipment + 10 dollars in customclearence in Denmark.

IF you get the ue servo saver and you have the horn and the link for it. I am not sure what else you would need. That will take care of the steering part of it.

Servo horn and linkage. And some dry type lubricant(do not use wet type grease on the saver, sand will stick to it and cause allot of wear).

I just wanted to try with the blue metal servohorn directly. But the holes are way too small, for the stock screw.

Is there some screws that are made to fit the hole in the servo horn?
