Maxamps... - 05.23.2010, 08:55 PM

FYI Unless its a constructive thread about their packs / warranty support etc I'll delete any general bashing threads or posts as they don;t really contribute to the site in any way...

The unless bashing about prices and C rating are pointless - I think everyone gets it...

As you've seen I'm happy to post a picture of my latest Maxamps pack experience and will be happy to post of the results of the warranty inquiry.

If you have a problem with this please PM me or escalate to Mike.

Excuse me, but what right do you have to delete a thread because it contains a thread in which there is a perfectly reasonable debate over the quality of a company that charges an obscene amount of money for it's packs?

The internet is about the free exchange and debate and yet here you are deleting threads because you are 'bored' of them. I request that you allow my other post to stand, as the thread is now BigSquid's thread of the week, and is obviously worth a read.

On a sidenote, have you learned not to buy from Maxamps yet? I'm sure they'll warrantee your chinese cells, as they can give three or four packs before they will have lost out on the amount you paid for your pack.

See that RC-Monster Mod, by his name. He has the right. It also gives him the right to ban you ;)

You might want to try a blog or something, forum's are very rarely, a true "open forum" where you can post whatever you want.

Could be, Mike is tired of seeing his forum, littered with the garbage that normally gets inserted into MA threads. Instead of informative, they normally just turn into a bash, that provide no helpful information. Most everybody on this forum knows what to expect from MA.

If you ready what I said a CONSTRUCTIVE post is fine and to be commended...

The usual rant though about high prices and unsubstantiated C ratings has been repeated time and time again and I don't think adds anything to the human race...

LOL...funny how threads that are bashing maxamps get deleted around here....

more then likly just because Mike stocks maxamps and he thinks it's going to hurt the sales of them.

But by this point and time with the reputation they have i'm pretty sure the only people who would buy them is noobs just getting into r/c who have no idea about the forum or have not done enough reserch to figure out that they suck

and i agree with E-sav...you just go around deleting threads because your bored of them?..that doesn't make much sence...if you no longer want to go look through the thread then don't open it!...whats so hard to figure out about that? i'm sure theres enough mods around here that your not the only one who is able to patrol threads.

And i'm pretty sure this was a pointless thread aswell because it's more then likly to just going to turn into a maxamps bash untill it's closed

Being a mod gives them the right, and I think those guys do a darn good job around here and are very fair and reasonable about what they allow and disallow. This forum isn't a democracy, what they say goes.

It doesn't seem to me like you've looked around here that much. ONE thread got deleted. This forum probably has the most criticism of MA out of any RC forum on the net, and it has all been tolerated until now, when it was (rightly) determined that it was a "beating a dead horse" situation. I have been guilty of it myself, and agree that it is time to just let it go and put our time towards more constructive discussion.

Guys this has nothing at all to do with Mike - He didn't call me and I didn't speak to him...

It has nothing to do with the fact that Mike stocks Maxamps... The threads just add no value - if you want to vent then you might as well open a window and shout it out. You are obviously not going to buy their packs so why not just leave it at that.

If you did buy / test there packs and posted some factual data about their performance good or ugly that would be great! But everyone knows they cost a fortune and they don't follow the normal C rating which is a PITA - Its been the same way for a while now!

PS There are actually only 2 active mods on this forum...

Can't say that I agree with deleting a threa because you are bored of the topic. I do agree with deleting threads that simply bash someone or something though. Inwas actually trying to post in a thread last night and it was deleted while I was typing. I have had good and bad luck with MaxAmps. Inhave one pack that performs awesome even after over two years. A set of packs I did have trouble with where eventually replaced under warranty. Arct1k, if you haven't contacted them about your pack yet I would recomended you talk to Josh, he was very helpful and corteous to me. My biggest gripe with MA is that their prices have went up rather than down like everyone elses. If there prices where in line with the rest of the market I would give them another shot.

Bored was obviously the wrong word and for that I apologise.

My intent was to AVOID, what I consider to be pointless, bashing threads - I'm more than happy for people to post up real world experiences - Good or bad but the ususal windging threads do, I'm afraid, get dull.

Josh is no longer working for maxamps so I was passed to Clint - I was offered 50% off a new pack of my choice - I doubt that I will be taking up their offer.

50% off just puts them about where the prices should be

I would also remind people of the forum behavoir rules...

There has been a general decline in attitude and behavior recently that must stop! I was speaking with Mike the other day and he agrees and has asked mods to become more aggressive in moderating to address the issues below:

Personal attacks. There is no need to trade insults between members. If there is a beef between individuals, take care of it off the forum. Period. If you are the target of an attack, you are more than welcome to PM a moderator and we will see to it that it stops.

Vulgar language. Most of us are adults here, but there are a few younger members. As such, we should keep the language on the forum PG-13 rated at the very most.

Inappropriate content. This forum is intended primarily as a support forum for RC-Monster products and general brushless information. Many of us spend a lot of our time here and consider fellow members friends. So, off-topic (non-R/C related) threads do happen, and that is perfectly fine. However posting or linking to inappropriate content (such as content including items 1 and 2 above) is off-limits.

Let's try to act our age, shall we?

My intention was never to incite a row over maxamps products, simply to bring attention to a thred with good information and new information at that. Such as austin himself confirming that maxamps lipos are infact chinese.

I have no problem with the whole maxamps operation as a concept, though them offering you 50% off a new lipo because one of their unbeatable lipos puffed after 15 cycles is a punch in the stomach.
