Slash 4x4 Asphault Oval Racer - 09.20.2010, 02:58 PM

I'd thought I'd share this with you guys, Here at our local Chicken wing restaurant "Quaker Steak and Lube" on Monday nights we have asphault oval races. There are several classes including "Super Trucks" TC's with Nastruck bodies 3500kv 2s max, Slash Class (which is what I mainly run) It's basically
2wd & 4wd Slashes 3500kv,3s max with Foam tires and Dirt Oval bodys. It's a real smash and bash class, lots of fun ! And finially 1/8scale GT classes.
The track is pretty small, 80'x50' lap counter and the whole deal. I'm going out tonight if I can I'll get some video or get someone to take some via my camera.

My set up is a PE Slash, 3s, NEU 1509 2Y 1820kv, M.M.M. I've done a lot to get the ride height down, shock limiters(fuel tubeing) 45wt oil, RS super firm springs and a modded RPM front bumper to hopefully get some life out of the new body. I installed FLM arms and found aluminum nerf bars on Fleabay. Only running a fan due to the body not having any holes, motor got up to 160degrees last race.

As you see it sits very low indeed !

I retired from RC, now life is all about guns and long range shooting.

Is that the stuff you have to spray on w/ an airbrush gimmick, that runs like $45 a pint?

Does it go on firsts, then yer Polycarb over top of that?

Nice! the 4x4 Slash is a versatile platform, good for most flavours of RC...good for speed runs too

No doubt. I'm sure you could wring more out of it than that without too much expense or effort

+1 Good Job man. That body looks pretty badass. With the Silver Top, and square lines, it resembles a Classic Muscle Car... Almost Duke of Hazard LOL, glad you didnt go orange...
Seriously tho I like it. Nice job. My father and I just slammed our 1/8 buggies for street and got some Inferno GT Bodies. I actually used a L8ight Bumper Mount and Foam. I will have to show him those pics...

You are exactly correct Bryan, Running Jaco Pink Slash 2wd Rears in all four corners.

No video from last night, I tried but it just to dark. The lighting is pretty dang bad over there, wishing I painted this body with some lighter colors like the last one but at least mines the only one solid blue so it helps. My eyes aint what they used to be LOL.

I did however kick some major ass last night ! I won both my heats, the first by 11-laps and the second by 8-laps and won the A-main (not sure but I think by 1-lap?). My first ever across the board win, I will post race results when they are availible sometime today.
