I just recently bought a brushed e-Revo and I think I blew the ESC.
I bought it new in mid August and registered it with Traxxas. Since then I had one of the stock batteries melt down which they replaced for me at no charge saying it could be a bad cell or bad ESC.
Anywho after running a few batteries through it today, letting it sit an hour or so, then putting a set of full DTX5000 packs in it, I turned the ESC on and smoke started pouring out of it. As soon as I saw it I unplugged the bats and let it finish it's smoke billowing. Now I have a paper weight. Can this be fixed? And more importantly will Traxxas stand behind this and help me out with a new one?
Definitely sounds like a bad ESC. Traxxas should still have your battery replacement on file, so that should help your case anyways. Hopefully they will help you out again!
Call up traxxas, I'd be surprised if they didn't send one out to you :)
My experience has been great with their CS, and I think generally those ESCs are pretty solid.
LOL! Thanks for your concern but we've actually been married for 4 years now. We have a 2 year old and my wife is due with our 2nd in January. So we're good there. :-)
