Gear conservatively, watch temps, and use an external BEC.

depending on what servo he uses, he will probably not need an external BEC. switching BECs do not make much heat either.

also, i think as long as you don't go crazy with the gearing, you will be fine on temps too. i've run my MMpro 1cell (no fan) in a 1/8 buggy without heat issues as long as i stayed out of tall grass. if you have a normal one that has a fan, then you should be fine.

They say a good mechanic only needs 2 tools - WD40 & Duct tape. If it moves, and its not supposed to, duct tape. If it doesn't move, and its supposed to, WD40.

OK, so I am better off using more $ on a RX8 or MMM.

You are right, but the MMPro BEC tends to be on the weaker side. I have several here and the ones I tested cut out when the load exceeded ~2A. Even before 2A, the voltage dropped more than I would like. A 3A external BEC would be a better choice if using the Pro on a larger scale vehicle, particularly on a MT where turning is quite high with those big tires.

As far as current-handling goes, I would rate the MMPro a little above that of a MM, but less than a MMM. Again, being in a Revo, I would still watch temps for a while to make sure it's not being stressed.

Thanks for the answers guys. I think the Revo will end op pretty heavy, as it will be build more monster than truggy like. So I just throw my Tekin combo in it, and get an MMM esc for my G4.
