I hate waiting, a Tower Hobbies gripe -
12.08.2010, 11:56 PM
I hate waiting, it's a personal flaw. I just have no patience when I want something.
The gripe however is towards Tower Hobbies. Why can't they give an accurate delivery date?!?! I would expect them to have a solid date for the arrival of a new part from a vendor. It's not a small matter to expend or update a product line.
So why I ask have my hopes for seeing a Mamba XL HV ESC gone from "early December" to "mid December", and should I expect it to be delayed again?!?! I am beginning to think they do it on purpose, mabey to gauge the number of hits on the part page to determine the number of parts to put in stock?
Either way it bugs the hell out of me and I'm considering purchasing from a different site (hopefully RCM) just to spite Tower.
If I could only draw what I see in my head, then afford to build it, and finaly get to play with it...

Can you buy it anywhere else? Sometimes I'm sure it can be tough to get an accurate from manufactures and the like. Them changing it only means they are trying to provide you with the most accurate date they can. :)

Sounds simple enough. -

Yea it always seems simple enough from where we sit, but we have no idea what they are dealing with trying to get their stocks filled up from vendors when the vendor themselves are having issues that none of us knows about. SHipping and receiving is never as easy as one would like it to be, so we have to be patient and respect their problems as well. Tower tries just as hard as anyone else to keep things in perspective, but there are just unforseen circumstnaces that cannot be helped in most cases. When CC releases it, then it will show up in several places all at once I am sure.

Just seems to be a consistent thing with Tower in particular. I recall the same thing happening a few times throughout the years. Not with just Castle either, I remember it happening as far back as zapped nimh cells, digital servos, and RPM stuff for my RC10T... Seems like it happens most with good stuff.
But c'mon guys it's a gripe, I'm realy just looking to whine a little :-)

I can whine to - I hate it when people don't order electronics and stuff from Mike...
In this case i think they probably just got a better date from the distributer.

x2 on all accounts. When people come on Mike's forum and complain about other vendors when they could have ordered from Mike I have less than zero sympathy.
Feed the monster, support the forums!
Now if only Mike carried crawler and scaler gear...........

Hey now! I sent off a PM to Mike two days ago asking about a pair of motor mounts, AND I'm patiently waiting for a response :-)
I also have included in my original post that I intend to get the XL from Mike if possible.
So go easy, I respect the forum and am a patron when the budget allows.

Rcm support. -

I have purchased a few things from Mikes store and enjoy dealing with his business, and I love being able to support the Monster when it is possible. Still it is hard to pass up on some of the other deals that are offered out there, when not only is the price 10% lower, but you can get a huge 10%-30% membership discount on top of that. With our economy in its present state we are all looking for the best deals, and thats just simple economics. I would have to believe where Mike does his best dealings is in the items that are his one off designs, and no one else has them. Otherwise consumers will go where they can save money, and still get good quality products. Supply and demand, plus savings. Pretty simple.

There is no option on the RCM store site, sikeston34m. Not that I can see at least. I didn't even realize that until you mentioned it. Hey, I win the oldest member on this thread award :)
