In an Emaxx

I know this is asking a lot. But I don’t understand everything I know about what a Slipperential does and where it goes. I am running a 3905 Emaxx upgraded with a MMM ESC and 2200 motor. In discussions I read about the Slipperential they are always referring to buggies and truggies. Is the Emaxx a good vehicle to run a Slipperential in? Could someone show some pictures of where it goes?

The slipperential is simply an alternative in replacing whatever transmission you may have in your vehicle now. It is simply a differential that has an adjustable slipper setup to reduce shock to your drivetrain. Just like the differnetial in your front and read drive, but with an adjustable slip. It can be used in just about any R/C vehicle. So yes you can install one in your 3905 if you wish. There are a few examples of this already here on RCM, but you will have to dig around through various threads to find one and get a look at it. I do not own a 3905 myself. All of our toys are 3906 Maxx trucks, and I do have the RCM universal center diff setup in one of them, but I have not gotten my hands on the RCM slipperential yet. Good luck with that.

Just adding to what Jerry said, yes it will work in an E-Maxx, but you will have to fabricate some sort of way to fit it in as it is not a direct replacement for the transmission. As far as the benefits over the stock transmission I would say that it is worth it, although I have not done the swap myself, the reduced weight and the addition of a differential in the center will really help on-power handling and acceleration.

If you are looking at putting one in, the easiest way to do it would probably be to buy Mike's Universal motor/diff mount and mount it to the chassis braces, kind of like this.

You would have to use the RCM Universal Center Diff Mount to replace the stock transmission.

6s with a 2200 is quite aggressive - I hope you have 1/8 diffs in the front and rear or diff failure is in your future. I think I answered an email with the exact same question...perhaps it was you?
I like the mod.8 58t spur and 12t pinion for this application personally.
