I just joined the brushless crowd

After about four years of reading and wishing I could afford a brushless system, I now have one. Its only a HV-Maxx system and its on loan from MTEnthusiast, but its a real hoot to drive compared to the evx. I have only run 12 cells so far, but its way faster than i ever run a MT except for my Nitro Revo and its close on acceleration. The next step for me will probably be the 7XL i bought from Coolhand_country. Eventualy I want to get a 19 series from Lehner and thinking MGM for esc. As I said before, Thanks MTEnthusiastfor the opportunity to get a taste of true power( I know its only a taste, after all its a Novak:027: )

Welcome to the brushless club. Glad you could make it. The hv is ok until you move up. Then you don't want to go back.

you'll move past the novak fast. I think i had teh novak for less than a week before i swapped it out with a nonsensored. I dont think i even ran it in a car.

Well most of the time I read a lot on systems and how they run and problems encountered, but when i get the chance to get one, something got in the way(got to keep your priorities in check or you get into trouble). I will say that with the Novak system, I wonder why you need anymore, its almost too much in the G2R and 12 cells

Although everyone is definitely correct in saying that the other options are MUCH more powerful, I'm glad to hear that you really like the increase you've seen from the HV-Maxx. It really IS a great setup when treated properly and is probably more than you'd ever need on a track.
One of the biggest reasons (other than raw power) to get one of these sensorless systems is that you pay just about the same amount in actual $ if you buy either the HV-Maxx or a BK system at normal price. As in almost everything we do in life, it's always recommended to get the most for your hard-earned dollar :003:

Again, though, it's VERY refreshing to hear someone praise the HV-Maxx again :027:

I was thinking about racing. For bashing, yeah i can see more power. with the HV i'm overpowering the tires on everything, reminds me of the nitro setup without the noise and mess. I cant wait to run a nitro revo now, with the evx i could stay up with a stock revo on a track, now i should be able to out run the same track without much trouble

I remember the day I ran the Novak on the short indoor track at the LHS. Picture a model rocket engine without the rocket. It was all over the place with the binary throttle I have.....uh, that's on or off to some. ;-) I also remember not starting a turn soon enough and watching the MT suspension work as it climbed the cinder block wall and launch over the side. :005: oops.

It was a lot of fun, but after repairing it a second time, it was cheaper for me to keep it in the box. Especially when I bought the MGM160 and 7xl while the HV-Maxx was in transit to/from Novak! I'm all ears on how I should have ran it, but I think a BK ESC is next on my list to compare to the MGM160. :018:

I already learned my first lesson though:
Never stand behind a brushless when there are small pebbles and rocks are going to fly, even if its a Novak

Amen! Even with brushed, this can be a problem!

I learned the bigger the motor the bigger and farther the gravel flies. It can be hard on paint and windsheilds to.

The first time i got full throttle with the HV it shot a rock twenty feet and hit my real truck

I can believe it. I thought I was going to need safety googles to run the 2250 on 26 cells.
