anyone here have an 8ight-t? i need some help... - 01.30.2011, 11:12 AM

i just bought a really nice 8ight-T 2.0 and the rear suspension on the truggy seems really really soft. even with the purple springs. i almost have to run the springs all of the way compressed to keep the rear up.

1. is that normal? and is there anything else i can do to stiffen it?
2. is it me or do the rear truggy springs and the rear
8ight buggy springs look to be the same length?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Haven't received my 8t yet, but I bought one used and should have it mid week...

I'll look at the Losi site, they list spring length/weight somewhere, but I think silvers are the hardest... I'll post a link when I find it.

If I could only draw what I see in my head, then afford to build it, and finaly get to play with it...

i just talked to the former owner and he said it was because i need to run the smaller pistons with a little heavier oil. so, i'm gonna try the smallest and give it a go. i'll post the results later this afternoon.

Ride height shoulnt be affected by oil/piston...

The purple's are crazy stiff springs. The only thing I can think of it possibly has 1.0 rear shocks on it. The 2.0's are alot longer.

do you have a measurement on a set of the 2.0 rear shocks?

yeah...that's where mine is with a 4S lipo in it on purple springs. i guess i'd just like a little more room for adjustment.

but...it's all good...i love this truggy.

It's a great truggy, kinda sorry I sold mine now. But I swapped to the purple springs too trying to get rid of some of the sag, and was suprised when it didn't help very much at all. I guess I couldn't accept the fact that it was meant to drag its ass over stuff beating up the chassis unlike the monster trucks I had owned previously.

that's exactly the way i felt.

i guess it's fine but i'm definately not gonna sell anymore of my revos. there is a HUGE difference in the way they both ride.

i did come up with a solution in how it sits though. a friend of mine showed me a shock mod that wouldn't compromise dampening that really stiffened up the shock and after running it for a few packs today, it worked really well.

it just seems really lame that losi would make such a huge shock body and not make stronger springs.
