Wait time for membership? - 02.03.2011, 11:48 PM

I have been chatting with a person who became a member on RCTech and sharing some wisdom I've gained here over the years. My first piece of advise was to come over here to RCM so he could get info from the people in-the-know as I've never found a better forum than we have here.

He was prompt to register here, but has not been activated yet. What kind of time frame should he expect?

If I could only draw what I see in my head, then afford to build it, and finaly get to play with it...

Pm an admin, or maybe one of the mods (arkt1c or briang) and see what it up. Pretty sure an admin has to approve and there are only a few here. Have not seen Rene (serum) posting much, so it may be up to Mike (our fearless leader) to approve.

i thought it was one of those automated e-mail activations, but it's been years so I could be wrong.

Tell him to check his spam in case approval got sent there?

I'll let him know ~a month. I seem to recall it taking far too long when I registered.

I actually think its a good thing, will weed out some of the impatient/immature types. Of course it's not a fool proof method, as I'm here :)

Mental note* brainanator is a friend of freezes. Treat him as you would an unruly discipline lacking toddler hopped up on mountain dew and cupcakes

Really, you are here, can't say I noticed...

Side note: I often wonder if this stuff sounds very sarcastic when you guys read it, cause I certainly mean it that way.

And if you came up with it, DrHoe69, it is certainly a "fool proved" method!!!

Monster mike - 02.04.2011, 07:06 AM

Just shoot Monster Mike an email. I registered and sent him an email, and was actiated within a few days. I am sure that Mike is very busy these days just trying to get through all of his little projects and monitoring things here can be a time consuming challenge. Plus I bet there are a lot of members registered here that have not even been on the site in quite some time. Not sure about the capacity of his servers or just how full the site is with the present membership loads. Good luck with that.

SUPERMAXX YOUR LIFE.

Well, I feel compelled to mention that this is a younger kid and he's pretty green.
I want to feel like he'll respect the forum, so an actual wait period has a certain appeal to me.
I like that he's persuing building a high voltage/ high power setup, and he seems to take some advise well.
It doesn't sound like he does the homework he should on the options I've presented to him...
Ah to be young and full of gusto :-)

Well Linc, I must say that I thought of you and Harold when Brainator mentioned the forum being "open to other guys"
