Savage X To Savage Flux

Hey guys! I finally got the money to fix up my old savvy. Yesterday was my birthday and I got enough money to buy the stuff to fix up my truck. Today I ordered everything to get it up and running. Here is what I have bought so far:

TCS TVP's
Flux Tranny
Slipper Assembly
Maximizer Beadlocks
44 tooth spur
23 tooth pinion
HS-645MG servo (I was running low on $)
Flux body
Motor Mount
Motor Mount Plate
Motor Mount Braces
and some other crap

I can't wait to get everything and put it together! Here is a before picture with my ghetto battery trays:



I will post up some pics when everything shows up and when I get it put together.

Do save up as you will probably eventually need the bulletproof diffs; you'll blow out the nitro versions sooner or later.

wouldnt it have been cheaper to buy the flux conversion kit? I know i have it pretty cheap lately, but i cant remember where.

I would have been, but I didn't have a nitro tranny and I wanted Different TVP's.

Sounds good so far.

1. check Feebay for the bulletproof diffs. I have found them complete for under $30.00 from time to time. I would put one in the rear for starters.

2. It looks like you already have the heavy duty dogbones. If not grab some.

3. Let me know how you make out with the beadlocks. I bought a set from maximixer and had bad luck on the X to flux conversion. I shattered one rim and the wheels constantly pull out of the beadlock.

Bulletproof diffs are different ratio than the std so you have to replace both.

I agree with the beadlock problem. It took me a while to get my badlands to stay on my maxximizers.

I think it would be ok to run the 2 different diffs, but only if you only drove it on dirt, and only if you must drive it.

For #2 don't forget you need the Flux axles and the larger diff cups to go with the SHD dogbones.

I have Maximizer beadlocks that I've run on my RC8Te in bash mode... they've held up pretty well for me. If you've shattered these, you'd probably shatter any wheel, as they are fairly beefy. To me, tires pulling out of the beadlock is no worse than them coming unglued, and really usually easier to deal with.

School sucked today... but I came home to a package from TCS! I got straight to work, but I don't have any sanding wheels left for my dremel so I have to hit up Home Depot or Lowes in a little while. I am still waiting for my package from Amain with my bead locks, servo, and body. I can't wait to get this thing working. I will post up some pictures later when i get it all together.

Edit: Oh yea about the beadlocks my friend has a set on his paddle tires and they have worked great for him. I did manage to crack a RPM revolver rim somehow, but thats why i bought the beadlocks. I hope they will stand up to some abuse.

I think if i was going to replace one diff I would replace both because my friends truggy has 2 different diffs in it and the front wheels drag it down the street when he drives, and I don't live by much dirt so i drive on the street a lot.

Everything showed up and I found some sanding drums for my dremel, but I couldn't find my dremel... . I decided to put my tires on my new beadlocks, but stopped after two because my hand was killing me. After a little while I decided to ask someone for a dremel and they ended up having one . Then I began sanding down my motor mounts which took forever and they still dont fit very well, but they work. Now my back is killing me, my truck is still in pieces, and I have to get to bed. I will be back tomorrow with pictures of the finished truck.

I can't believe how much fun this thing is to drive! I did already manage to mess up my body though.
