Maybe we have it wrong, the 100C is actually a model number or something like that. Kinda like the 15hp lawnmowers at Home Depot, I thought it meant 15 horsepower, but there is no way those motors can put that out continously... So it must just be a model/id number. Linda like 0U812...

with maxamps, i have found a semi-reliable way to get the approximate c-ratings of their packs. it is as simple as this:

divide their claimed rating by 4

so, i am willing to bet these are solid 25c packs.

with the 150c batteries, i think the divide by 4 thing isn't quite enough, but i haven't seen them in person more than once.

with my old "30c" maxamps packs, if i don't turn my lvc down to 3.0 from 3.3, they will start hitting lvc as soon as i hit the throttle trigger. they perform like ni-mh packs and get just as hot. the only differences between them and my old ni-mh packs is they cost a bunch more and they like to puff up. they are probably around 5c and can barely hold their own in a duratrax ext2 (very light 1/10) with a very mild ~25mph brushless setup. they still get pretty warm.

They say a good mechanic only needs 2 tools - WD40 & Duct tape. If it moves, and its not supposed to, duct tape. If it doesn't move, and its supposed to, WD40.

You guys forgot to mention the latest award.

2011 Battery of the year
For the 4th year in a row, MaxAmps.com took the RCCA Readers’ Choice Award for best battery. The winning pack was our popular Hard Case Race Edition LiPo 6500 2-cell 7.4v Battery Pack. See it here:
http://www.maxamps.com/

Of course Maxamps marketing VP is the magazine editor, so what can anyone expect. That is the most flagrant "conflict of intrest" issue I have seen yet in the R/C hobby. How in the world can anyone take them seriously? First was their latest ad for the TRUE 150C race ready Lipo, and now this 100C Lipo sport pack. Who do they think they are kidding? Its funny how only a few guys have actually come in here and tried to post up positive feedback about their batteries, but once questions were posted in disbelief asking for some kind of proof they do not come back to support their claims. Really? Why is that?

Is there no one out there who actually likes their Lipos and believes their ads, who can actually post up a real argument in their favor? Surely there has got to be somebody in here who is a believer. Show yourself and make us believe. I dare you to be an honest man and prove that these batteries are truly worth what they are charging compared to all of the other Lipo suppiers in the realm of our hobby. Of course we know this will never happen as long as they continue to advertise in an untruthful fashion. I really do hope that some one calls them out on these ads and either forces them to eat their words or shuts them down. This is just rediculous.

Really? What draws you to that conclusion? Even if his name does not appear in the open, you can bet that he has some input to the matter.

Thats what I meant when I said conflict of interest. He is doing both jobs now. Even if he leaves the editing job he will still have a moderate controlling interest in CA magazine just because of his history with them.

I would rather buy some 20c lipos, then sell them as 10c and have everyone and their uncle rave about how good they are...
