Hey, what's up Savage nuts. Well I hope there is a few of you on here as I have a few Q's. After owning a few Revos and E-Revos I have decided to sell them and have a go at owning a Savage Flux.
I have one on order with a LHS but I am also picking up a Savage XL from a guy I work with. It's only 5 months old and has seen very little use. He decided to convert it to a Flux but lost interest. he did fit a Flux transmission to it but that is as far as he got. I have bought the extended Flux TVPs, adjustable upper arms, sway bars, high speed idler gear, MMM XL esc, alloy steering knuckles, CEN shocks (8 of them but might only need 4) and a few other bit and pieces. All of the stuff is on it's way from the States and I will be picking up the Savage on Saturday.
My first question is what are my motor choices. I have the Castle 1518, 1520, 1717 and of course the 1515 but I would rather step things up a little and user the bigger motors. How would they go for fit? I can get the motor brackets/mounts to fit all of the above mentioned motors but will they fit the chassis? Will it foul on anything? I am worried that the 1717 wont clear the hole in the TVP. I should also mention that I have every intention of running this truck on 8S.
My second question is the diffs. This particular XL was bought about 6 months ago and it is the 2.4G version. Do they have the BP diffs? If they don't I think I am screwed until I get them.
Last question (for now) is what else needs to be upgraded on the Savage to be able to cope with serious dose of brushless power?
