Not much RC happing with me lately - 09.08.2011, 07:09 PM

Not much being posted here anymore, but I hope that will change. I do visit other forums, but I check this one on a daily basis. I check for new products I would like to take apart and post up some reviews. There isn't much really out there at the moment that makes go "Wow I need to try that one out". I only got the Viper Rc motor that was a failure and I have a preorder of the new Novak 1/8 4 pole motor. There are those 540 size 4 pole sensored Tekin motors that are out, but are they any better than the old school Aveox?

There is not much to post about lately from my side. Just been busy with the fam and home projects. Anybody interested in me glueing down bamboo flooring through my house? I was able to put about 700 square feet of wood and 3 five gallon buckets of glue in my expedition. Talking about my expedition, I just swapped out the worn out brake pads with ceramic pads I got on clearance from Advance auto parts. 10 bucks for the front and 38 bucks for the rear. Took me a while just to find 9mm hex socket to remove the front caliper. Got a used snap-on of ebay for 15 bucks shipped. Flushed out the brake fluid as well. Dealer wanted 200 bucks for the front brake job and 200 for the rear, not including flushing it out. Buying 20" rims and tires was only $100 more than just swapping out the stock tires. Got the set and drove directly to Port Aransas beach to test them out.
Here's my daughter "hiding" behind it

My Ebike is still going strong. Still running 24s2p A123 untill it gets cool enough to run 22s lipo's. I recently won GensAce fan of the month on facebook with my ebike. Price is a 2s lipo pack I think that I will receive in the mail.

I went to NC Charlotte for the Warrior Dash with my cousins. Talk about a fun weekend. Mountain biking, gokart racing, eating, eating, eating , pool parties, and Dash in one weekend.

I had an awesome time.

The wheels are made by MHT Wheels and it's the Fuel Octane model. Tires are FalkensZiex S/TZ-04 which are as quiet as my previous Cooper tires. Dunno if they will last as long though. It has the holes for the TMPS sensors on the back of the rim and one hole in the front for the regular valve stem. The center cap is held by two 4 mm hex bolts. Tires size is 275/55/20, which is the stock size for Ford 20" wheels.

Well it looks as if you had a great time, and the participation was pretty good for an event like that. Pretty cool adventure. Also good to see who you are after reading your posts in here for years.

The truck looks nice. Kind of a 5-O look with those colors. I have a friend who just laid a bamboo floor in his livingroom, but it was what they now call a floating floor. No adhesive or nailing of any kind. You just lay it down and snap everything together like a puzzle and it stays put. Looks great and it had to be an easy installation, because he is all thumbs.

From the looks of things in most of the forums R/C is taking a backseat for everyone due to low cash flows and working more hours to make up for losses. I have been working since early June for the US Department of State, and finally received my first paycheck yesterday. So now we are catching up on bills, but R/C will be back on my things to do again soon once I can afford to purchase some good Lipos and some high end charging gear with a first class power supply. Life will be back to normal again in a couple of months.

SUPERMAXX YOUR LIFE.

The dash looks awesome! I've always wanted to go to one of those. I mtn bike as well but haven't gotten to ride all this season. :( I think I'll hit some trails soon before all the warm weather is up.

:D
