E-LST ideas/help - 11.14.2011, 08:57 AM

Hi guys/gals, I am new to the fourm but not new to rc. I have a Losi Aftershock LE and the price of nitro with the stock mach .26ss is rarely running right and never had a massive amount of power like big-block should so I am wanting to convert it to electric. I would like to put a 12v or 14.4v dewalt in it to use as my waterproof truck to run in the snow/water and i would like to do just a little bit of light crawling with it by locking the rear diff as much as possible(silly putty) and and using some medium to heavy weight diff oil in the front. My question is that is there a motor mount that the dewalt will work with? TdRacing mount for the 1717? Also would the losi conversion kit work? I am also wanting to buy some xxl arms/knuckles/driveshafts/hubs and do the single speed hub conversion. I already have an evx2 and the the 2.4ghz and servos. i need a new spring because when i sheared the shockshaft off I lost the spring and it got introduced to the lawnmower

All help and tips are grealty appreciated! Thanks

The Dewalt mounting holes are a little wider spaced than standard (even the 1717 only has standard spaced mounting holes - 25mm). The tdr 1717 mount is designed for m4 screws - I think that's the only difference.
So you would need to modify the tdr mount to get the Dewalt mounted up.

Got the motor and some rc raven dual rate springs as well as the steel 14mm hexes off a stock emaxx(direct fit). Have some aluminum to make a motor mount and have an rc monster 26t mod1 pinion on the way. I even had some smartness and made my own single speed hub from un-needed parts from when it was a nitro.

What can you do with them?
They get the RC going and leave us hanging.

Good job. I'm curious what size spur you have on there and how does it run? I used to have quite a bit of fun with my dewalt powered e-revo, it was suprisingly quick for a brushed motor. Still would like to do a twin dewalt MT one day. BTW, they can take a beating I ran mine around 160-180F and it just kept coming for more.

Its the stock 63t spur, im not too worried about the temps being around 210 right now bc the 12v dewalts were pushin almost 300 in an erevo i think
