Fried my mmm and even started the grass on fire Thankfully it wasn't too bad as in it went out soon. It produced enough heat to desolder the battery input wires So anyway, is there a quick and easy way to test if the motor is still good without opening it up? I have a multimeter if that helps.

I would see if turns freely first.
Then can check the ohms from there.

Peace!

The rotor spins freely and the resistance is equal on all combination of phases, so I would think the motor is still good. I thought I had a 1518 installed but turned out to be a 1520. Thanks Countryboy.

What are you guys using to measure resistance of the coils? Given that the typical DC resistance of motor wires is in the milli-ohm range, a regular meter won't show the difference between a coil and a dead short. The only useful measurement a meter would give is to see if the coils are still connected, which it shouldn't be because it would take a heck of a lot of current to literally blow a coil.
