Backing up in RC - 12.28.2011, 03:08 AM

While everyone else seems to be going bigger, I went smaller. It's sad to say but my avatar photo is just a reminder of the truck I had. I sold my RC-M converted RC8T. 1/8 truggy racing just isn't that popular near me, They still maintain a heat every week during the summer at the track but it had dwindled down to 6-7 trucks. It also started getting expensive to race the class, with a set of tires costing around $80 or more and batteries at $65-70 for Turnigys it adds up quick. So I race 1/10 scale and that's it now. I also pretty much gave up on bashing but that might pick up over the winter if my cousin snowblows a track in his backyard. Short Course racing is still alive, well, and growing around me. I have 2wd and 4wd SC10, I also got myself a Factory Team T4.1 for Christmas. On top of the offroad stuff I am racing on a flat carpet oval, 1/10 Nastruck 17.5 spec class. 1/10 isn't nearly as hard on lipos, I bought a Speedpassion pack about 2 years ago and it is still running strong as is my 1 year old CRC pack. I was lucky to get a year out of my 1/8 packs before they lost enough capacity to not finish a race. Other than that I'm looking forward to spring and getting back out on the water with my Spartan boat.

Not really a rant, just letting some people know what I've been up to. I'm still here everyday checking in and seeing if there is anything new to learn or any thing I can offer to help someone new.
