lipo short?

lipo short? - 05.10.2006, 11:24 PM

i just received 2 polyquest lipos today and i had a brain fart. i let the two wires touch for a split second and heard a pop. so i shorted it right? i'm charging it right now and i'm watching it very, very closely. do you think its o.k?:026:

You can't tell from the outside. The chemistry of the cells should still be fine, but it's possible that you may have damaged some of the connections on the cells from excess current. It's impossible to tell without removing the shrink wrap on the pack.

I'd bet they should be fine, though.

thanks, that makes me feel a little better about my goof. both packs charged successfully to about 12.608v. sound o.k.?

I've done that before and it was ok,just keep a close eye on them.12.6 volts is right for 3s packs,do you have a balancer?
