People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

The 3.3 will handle much better than the 2.5R. The wheelbase on it has been extended by 40mm (according to a Traxxas rep at RCX). Another nice thing about it is the optional differential for the gearbox!

Good luck. Break it in well (and check everything is properly sealed - carb and backplate), and you should have an engine that lasts for ages :)

Good luck with nitro. A majourity of people that got the revo 3.3 have had a problem with the motor mount breaking, and some people have broken the piston rod. I just posted so your aware of this.

The problem with nitro's these days are that they arent brushless... LOL

I know of the problems and will try to break it in good.

TomF I had problems with two 2.5's and know to seal them good, but thanks for reminding me

MikeL if i go Gorilla, it will be the CF chassis and maybe a Mike style center diff.

Metalman if thats the case the G2R is close, i had them side by side and the 3.3 is maybe two mm longer in wheelbase

Coolhand you'll know first

Hoping to have it broke in by this weekend. Having a bash at the new track in this area and want to take the G2R and 3.3 for near side by side comparision

crazyjr - i've heard many people have had issues with the 2.5/2.5R - it's to do with the carb being junk i think.

Just put on OS in there if the TRX gives you trouble ;)

I got a good one in the Jato it runs great and too much power to try to handle(operative word TRY). Will take into consideration, but i like the traxxas carb.

Actually Tom, they use the same carb on the 3.3 as on the 2.5, so if there was ever issues with it (I never had any) than they aren't gonna go away...

Shows how much i know lol

I heard it was very sensitive and the fuel boils in the carb (although my Fantom is like that and i haven't has any trouble with it...). But then i'm just going by what i heard - i've never had a TRX engine

Let me know how the 3.3 treats you. I might put one in a Pede (if i end up getting it)

I set it up my way last night. Removed reverse with my own mod. and changed the reciever(servo's not fighting,YEA, so will give them a chance, till i find my extra BB 621mg i got lying around. Disassembled the engine to check things and clean out and found some loose screws( some just fingertight, not good-n-tight) sleeve looks like its polished from the factory. Used prolong oil on every moving part, including the Piston and Sleeve. Have to run some errands but will try to break it in in an hour or so

Well the Breakin was uneventful, except on the first tank where it would stick at top dead center while running a few times, but after the first tank it went well. I used Odonell fuel and now have a new favorite fuel cause it never overheated and never stalled after the first tank. I now have 8 tanks through now and expect it to run good for a few gallons, at least. The track i ran at yesterday is a small technical one with a couple of highspeed sections, more better for electric truck than a nitro MT, but it can be run, matter of fact the G2R could handle it as good as a ST. There is a quad jump on the front shretch that i can almost get but with the HV brushless I don't have the power to quite clear so i want to get an esc for my 7XL and show the track owner how to do it. I also bought a Novak ss+5800 brushless system to run in my t4 cause i saw his run and its a little too much, so its perfect.

Still running, have about 10 tanks in so far and still running rich. I want to know how people are breaking their Revo's, I have the G2R for a year and a half and now the 3.3 and i can't break them. I even run the G2R up a tree and doing backflipswith 5 foot of air and no damage. The G2R is still faster but when this 3.3 gets a good tune it should run with it.
