Got sand ?? - 07.06.2012, 05:54 PM

how much sand play do you do ? I know it's hard on bearings and other stuff any tricks? besides good maintenance and lots of avid sealed bearings
I live one mile from the beach I have thirty miles of beach I just don't run it much in the sand but the sand is everwhere so if I go it's time for teardown.

well i live on the coast and i am surrounded by beaches...i love getting the truck on the sand with my paddels on...it rocks .
especially in the winter when they push all the sand up in a huge long sand bank about 8 foot high.
go for it...and enjoy

I mount my mmm's sideways in the hope that the sand has a chance to drain out the vent on the underside (instead of building up around the board). I hear other blokes seal their motors with silicon to try and save the rotor wrapping and bearings. Obviously, cv boots help. I also use bluetak to cover the spare holes in the reciever. Other than that I'm not sure what else Sand gets in EVERYWHERE but if you can slow it down...
