Help-Throttle not working - 06.09.2006, 06:24 PM

After running for about 10 minutes today I bumped into a tree and the e-maxx stopped running. Steering still works fine. Came home and searched the forum for help....

I checked All the connections and they were fine.
I plugged the esc wire into the steering slot to make sure the throttle slot was still working.
Opened up the esc(9920) and did not see any discoloration or anything odd.

The only thing odd is that I can not program the controller now...no beeping noise. Any ideas?

yeah i did..the bars look good

Could it be that my rx battery and radio batteries are low? Steering work and not enough power for throttle?

That sounds like wishful thinking.I'd try the esc in the steering reciever port since you know that's working. If it works then it might be the reciever and if it doesn't then it's likely the esc.

looks like its the speed controller and i've only had it for a month...it hasn't been overheating. the motor was a little hot around 170 though. Something kinda funny is today is i installed a fan on the esc today and the esc broke the same day...guess I'll be talking to mike about this soon.

I also tried unplugging my receiver battery and putting the black jumper on just to see if there was power...the steering and shifting servos still worked but no throttle. I will be very disappointed if i have to send back the esc it's still new.

If you shake it, do you hear some kind of rattle? (the esc)

Sounds to me, like a component got loose.

nothing loose...after inspecting it again i do smell a faint "burnt" smell coming from the end of where the 3 wires are attached...think it could have fried without smoke or something?
