Emaxx - can it handle and jump well?

Just took my Emaxx out for a run after a couple of months of it being in peices, what a blast :dft003: It handles nicely and has plenty of traction over very uneven gravel/grass, but smacks the ground very hard on jumps. I'm using Integy shocks, with 4 white UE springs and 4 stock red springs fitted, with 60wt oil and approx 2.5inches ground clearance front and back.

And all this leads me to the question..how would you recommend I change its setup so it doesn't bottom out so harshly, without compromising its handling? I had 4 red UE springs on instead of 4 stockers before, and it handled very well and jumped pretty good on hard surfaces, but I'm concerned if I firm up the suspension too much i'll start to loose stability on the very uneven ground on the farm I live on.

Another small handling issue..it was very rear heavy in the air, a lot of correction was needed otherwise it'd do a couple of front flips before landing. Any thoughts on improving this?

bottoming out isn't a bad thing.

My maxx bottoms out quite easy, (a 2ft drop and it bottoms already)

Compromises and sacrifices.. My savage almost never hits the ground. But that's a whole different bag.

The brother of my beloved Isabel has got a Jammin X1, and it bottoms out like crazy.

If your truck bottoms out, the stress on the shocktowers/shocks is smaller too.

Do you have 4 integy shocks? 60 wt oil in 4 integy is not enough. alot of people run 100wt in 8 with them.

I have 8 Integy shocks fitted. I am not concerned about it bottoming out, I would rather the skids and chassis take the strain than I bend a shock or bust a tower, but I am concerned about how harsh it bottoms out. It bottoms out from a 2ft drop, but when launched 5-6ft in the air it smacks the ground hard enough I'm concerned I might break something doing so.

You think I should pick up some 80-100wt oil for an 8 shock setup, and stick with the springs I currently use?

If you do big jumps, the Proline Powerstroke shocks are a VERY good choice.

Aye I was going to purchase a set, but got a very good deal on some bits for my emaxx, including the shocks. I don't have bottomless pockets so would prefer to work with what I have :)
